Bio

Kathy Reiss is director, research and industry analysis.  In this position, Reiss supports OESA staff and members with industry research and survey requests.

Reiss has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry.  Her career began in 1984 after graduating from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.  Positions held have included engineering, sales, research support and project/program management. 

Prior to joining OESA, Reiss was manager of North America Advisory Services at CSM Worldwide, supporting OEMs and Tier suppliers with forecast analysis and industry studies.  Her research background also includes time with IRN, Inc., as a research analyst working on ad-hoc customer studies.  Reiss’ sales and program management experience comes from employment with Tier 1 automotive suppliers providing products and services to many of the OEMs.  Her career started in engineering as a design engineer and CAD support staff working first at Ford Tractor Operations in Troy Mich., later moving to Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. 

Position Description

1. Execute surveys, including the OESA Automotive Supplier Barometer, and publications based on the OESA membership needs
2. Develop and maintain the OESA member product directory
3. Support the execution of special industry research projects
4. Respond to OESA member and other research-related inquiries
5. Develop and maintain OESA supplier information
