PURPOSE
The OESA Automotive Supplier Technology Forum provides a network to develop business relationships and a clearinghouse for information to leverage resources efficiently to speed the commercialization of new automotive product and process technologies. The primary objective of the Forum is to provide a central hub between the funders (governmental agencies and private lenders), innovators (national labs, universities, corporate laboratories, aerospace and other non-traditional automotive firms) and commercializers (vehicle manufacturers and supplier systems' integrators) of advanced automotive product and process technologies.
MEMBERSHIP
The forum is open to suppliers, OEMs, service firms, financial institutions, governmental agencies, academic institutions and others involved with the development and commercialization of advanced automotive technology. Forum delegates come from engineering, product development, finance, business development, marketing, legal and other interested functions. Institutions joining the Forum may elect up to four company delegates. Eligibility criteria will be developed by a board of governors and based on the candidate's ability to contribute to council activities.
Membership categories and fees are $1,000 for OESA member companies and $2,500 for non-OESA member companies. The board of governors may establish additional membership categories.
DELIVERABLES
The forum will provide a variety of services for members including:
- Facilitating technology showcases hosted by governmental agencies and national labs
- Packaging information on, and assistance with, solicitations for federal and state R&D grant, loan and other funding programs
- Providing a conduit between the suppliers and U.S. DOE, DOD and other governmental agencies
- Matchmaking between funders, developers and users of advanced technologies
Individual fees for events, meetings, working groups and other services will be determined by the level of overall membership participation, forum development grants and individual event partnerships.
GOVERNANCE
A board of governors sets the direction for the forum. The board of governors selects a council chairman annually. Legal counsel is provided to assure ant-trust guidelines are followed.
