PURPOSE
The council provides a forum for automotive supplier CEOs to address issues of common concern, create practical approaches and tools to improve supplier performance, propose strategic direction to complement the OESA Board of Directors and provide networking for member company CEOs.

MEMBERSHIP
Council membership is available to the CEO or highest level executive in North America responsible for automotive OE business from OESA regular member companies. The council will maintain a "no substitutions" policy.

Cost of membership is $2,000 per year.

MEETINGS
The council will hold a minimum of three meetings per year. One meeting will be held jointly with the OESA Board of Directors and will involve a facilitated full-day roundtable session on strategic industry issues. The remaining two meetings will be half-day and will include a summary of OESA initiatives and a roundtable discussion on issues of interest to members as well as informal presentations on topics of interest. Other meetings may be scheduled based on the interests of council members.

The Council Planning Committee has identified a number of potential topics for discussion, analysis and advocacy including:

• Strategic direction of the industry - macro/micro economic trends
• Supplier strategies for dealing with troubled customers/suppliers
• Customer and market diversification strategies
• Impact of LCC sourcing on the industry and individual suppliers
• Strategic alignment with growing customers
• Sustainability as an industry/company strategic advantage
• Customer demand for sharing financial information
• Private equity trends and impact
• Industry consolidations
• Balancing capital investment and expected returns
• Availability of qualified personnel
• Impact of OEM restructuring on supplier relationships

GOVERNANCE
The CEO Council will be guided by a board of governors made up of council members. A chairman will be elected from among the board of governors. OESA staff will administer the council and facilitate meetings.
