MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
Council membership is available to the senior purchasing executive of OESA regular member companies. Membership on the council is held by an individual rather than by a company. Only executives from OESA regular member companies are eligible to participate. Eligibility is determined by the council board of governors based on the perceived ability of prospective members to participate and contribute in council discussions and activities. As a peer group comprised of senior purchasing executives, industry and professional experience are important determinants used by the board of governors in considering potential members. In addition to the primary member, the council allows an alternative member to be named to represent the company at council meetings.

Cost of membership is $1,000 per year.

MEETINGS
The council meets quarterly at member-selected times and locations. Meetings follow an agenda and feature a roundtable format to discuss previously identified issues. Council members discuss topics and exchange opinions and ideas resulting in either a resolution of the issue or a plan for investigation and analysis. In some cases, discussions could lead to a survey of members to learn more detailed information. Speakers are invited to give presentations on specific issues or topics of interest. Such speakers are typically the leading executive or expert on the subject of interest from industry and consulting firms.

GOVERNANCE
The OESA CPO Council is organized around a board of governors, setting direction of council activities and counseling OESA staff on programs and special issues. A council chair is selected by the board of governors annually. The council is accountable to the OESA board of directors.
