OESA will host a special town hall meeting for OESA members at Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations, in Chattanooga, Tenn., on March 29, 2012. Attendees will hear an update on VW purchasing activities, participate in Q-and-A, and have the opportunity to network with VW executives. In addition, VW is hosting four tours through the Chattanooga Operations.  This meeting is open exclusively to OESA members.

Tom Loafman, director, purchasing, VW Group of America, will provide attendees with an update on VW global purchasing strategy and VW’s goals of:

• Leading customer satisfaction and quality
• Being the employer of choice
• Pushing global sales above 10 million units and producing profit before taxes of greater than 8 percent

Loafman will also share an update on the four pillars of the Chattanooga plant including people (now more than 2,300 direct employees), product (more than 50,000 Passats have been built to date), plant (with more than $1 billion of investment on the grounds) and parts (more than 85 percent are produced within the NAFTA region).

Additional VW executives, including Andreas Linke, director, quality, VW Group of America, will join Loafman for the question and answer session.  VW executives will also be available for informal discussions before and after the formal program.
