Chrysler’s Energy Use Reduction Program: An EH&S Council Discussion

Chrysler’s Energy Use Reduction Program:  An EH&S Council Discussion
Margaret Baxter, OESA

The OESA Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) Council will host a discussion by Greg Rose, director, corporate sustainability and environmental affairs, Chrysler Group LLC, at the winter council meeting to be held Feb. 8, 2012, at American Axle and Manufacturing.  Rose will discuss greenhouse gas and energy use reduction efforts at Chrysler, and share insight into what is driving corporate sustainability programs.

The EH&S Council has conducted a two-year investigation of best practices in energy use reduction at supplier companies.  The purpose of the focus has been to reveal practical actions that suppliers may adopt to drive energy use, and consequently GHG, down on a continuing basis.  Work has included many outside speakers from OEMs, suppliers and consulting companies engaging in both presentations and dialogue.

Rose will join other speakers including Glenn Howarth, director, environmental services, Delphi Automotive LLP, who will address the role of plant managers in HS&E, and Leigh Merino, director, regulatory affairs, and Catherine Boland, vice president, legislative affairs, MEMA, who will provide an update on current legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the EH&S Council.

Executives in charge of health, safety and/or environmental affairs at OESA regular member companies are eligible for council membership.  Prospective members are invited to join an upcoming meeting as an auditor to give the council a test drive.  For more information, contact Michelle Maki at 248.952.6401 ext. 229 or mmaki@oesa.org.
