OESA MEMBERSHIP Frequently asked questions
How does OESA calculate dues?
For regular members, OESA dues are a function of the
company’s OE sales volume in North America and can range from $750 to $17,500
per year. For affiliate members, OESA dues are $3,000 per year, regardless
of the size of the company. Divisional Members of OESA have a parent company
that is already a member, and pay $1000 per year. Click
here to access the OESA dues calculator.
What is the difference between regular and
affiliate members?
Regular members produce automotive
original equipment components or materials and affiliate members
provide services to the automotive industry. Click
here to access the OESA membership application, which provides
an exact description of regular and affiliate members.
How does OESA serve as a positive change agent for suppliers
with the OEMs?
OESA provides a strategic forum for the automotive industry’s original
equipment suppliers. OESA frequently meets with OEM executives to present the supplier perspective on issues of common concern
to automotive suppliers. Purchase order terms and conditions, linear
performance pricing, raw materials pricing, best practices related
to the customer/supplier interface and IMDS are a few of many issues
OESA has championed with the OEMs. Additionally, OESA provides a
voice for the supplier companies to the media, on issues of interest
to suppliers, as appropriate.
Who can the media contact for a quotation on
issues affecting supplier companies?
OESA President and CEO Neil De Koker is recognized globally
as the voice of OE suppliers in North America and can be reached at 248.952.6401
ext. 224. David Andrea, vice president of business development,
may also comment on the supplier industry and may be reached at ext.
228. Noelle Schiffer and Margaret Baxter may provide background
information on the automotive industry and can be reached at extensions
225 and 223, respectively.
What is the value proposition for OESA members?
OESA provides a forum for automotive suppliers
by addressing issues of common concern through peer group councils,
serving as a reliable source of information and analysis and providing
an industry voice, when appropriate, on issues of interest. Click
here to access a PDF file that describes the value proposition.
Can affiliate members serve on OESA councils?
OESA councils are for regular members. Affiliate
members of OESA are not eligible to serve on OESA peer group councils, but
may provide support to the councils through studies, surveys and
presentations when appropriate.
How can I get on the OESA mailing list?

Someone in my company is a member of OESA;
how do I join?

What is the relationship between OESA and the
Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association?
OESA is a market segment association of the Motor & Equipment
Manufacturers Association. OESA is separately incorporated
with its own board of directors. MEMA has two other associations
serving the aftermarket and heavy duty sectors, Automotive
Aftermarket Suppliers Association and Heavy
Duty Manufacturers Association, respectively. Members paying
dues to AASA or HDMA with existing business or interest in the OE
market may join OESA for $1,000. OESA members with business
or interest in the aftermarket or HD sectors may join AASA and HDMA,
also for $1,000. In all cases, a member must complete the
application for each market segment association in which they have an interest.
Can I register for an event if my company is
not a member of OESA?
OESA welcomes non-members to nearly all events.
Town hall and council meetings are exclusively for OESA members.
Affiliate members release proprietary information at select OESA
events and OESA may restrict attendance at such a meeting.
