Bill Foy is senior vice president Engineering Research and Development at DENSO’s North American headquarters in Southfield, Michigan. He is responsible for overseeing all North American product engineering, research, testing, cybersecurity, and engineering administration.
Foy first joined DENSO in 1997 as senior manager of the General Motors Sales Group, a role in which he was responsible for DENSO product sales to the automaker. In 2001, he joined the Chrysler Sales Group (formerly Daimler Chrysler), where he coordinated sales activities for all products and was successful in aligning DENSO group companies to achieve two global supplier awards. Foy was later named vice president of the Chrysler Sales Group in 2005. In this role, he oversaw Chrysler sales, as well as Hyundai and European market sales. Foy was then appointed to vice president of the Sales and Marketing Division, in which he oversaw Toyota sales and the Business Operations and Planning Group for DENSO’s North American region. In 2014, Foy was promoted to senior vice president of Sales and Marketing responsible for all customers, and rotated to his current position in 2017.
Prior to joining DENSO, Foy worked at Ford Motor Company for seven years in the Powertrain Component and Systems Group where he held a variety of positions in the component and engine design areas. He began his career in the aerospace industry at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut, as an application engineer and later at Parker Hannifin in Cleveland, Ohio, as senior engineer.
Foy earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan; and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan.
He is an adviser on the Michigan Technological University Corporate Advisory Board and a board member of the Michigan Science Center.
