The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will enter into force on July 1, 2020. There are several important procedural steps towards implementation for motor vehicle parts manufacturers. A mid-year entry into force is not without its challenges. As such, the MEMA Government Affairs office in Washington, D.C. has been working closely with officials in the Trump Administration and industry allies on Capitol Hill to ensure as smooth a transition as possible.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently published the “USMCA Interim Implementation Instructions,” which are intended to serve as guidelines for stakeholders. This document is also a window into what industry can expect to see in future uniform regulations and other implementation mechanisms for the USMCA.
This webinar will provide an overview of entry into force timeline milestones, a review of suppliers' top priorities, the state-of-play, and what to expect in the USMCA uniform regulations and other implementation instruments.
