Event Details

The Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) will host the third quarter 2017 “Mobility Supplier Forum” on Aug. 8, 2017, at Futuris Automotive in Newark, California. This series of meetings is intended to help automotive suppliers advance their business interests as they relate to connected and transformative technologies. This automotive forum meets quarterly in California’s “Silicon Valley” area with each meeting featuring insights from industry leading experts on issues of common concern for automotive suppliers.

The third quarter Mobility Supplier Forum features insight on OEM/supplier relations. Chris Van Der Merwe, general manager, Futuris Automotive, will discuss differences of working with traditional and new “Electric” OEMs. Michael Brady, partner, and co-chair, automotive industry practice group, Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, will discuss how OEM customers are using “Directed Buy” arrangements and how suppliers need to approach these arrangements. 

In addition, Brian Daugherty, chief technology officer, Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), will share an update on technology issues facing the automotive industry including automation, CAFE, V2X and cybersecurity.

The meeting will also feature insight from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Michael McCarthy, chief technology officer, California Air Resources Board, Mobile Source Control Division, will provide an overview of the ongoing Midterm Evaluation for the light-duty vehicle greenhouse gas emissions and provide insight to California’s next generation of standards.
